Urban Metals runs a CPCB-compliant e-waste recycling facility in Rajasthan, recovering base, rare-earth and precious metals from electronics that would otherwise be shipped out of state — or out of use entirely.
Copper output is purified further via conventional electrorefining to 99.99%.
Urban Metals made its e-waste recycling facility operational in September 2020 in Jaipur, Rajasthan. A survey into how e-waste moves through the state surfaced a clear gap: most of it was being trucked out of Rajasthan for recycling elsewhere — adding cost, and taking the jobs with it.
Processing e-waste within the state lowers transportation cost and processing cost, and keeps the economic value — and the jobs — local.
E-waste holds up to 15 metals — base metals, rare earth elements and precious metals. Most Indian recyclers stop at copper and precious metals; we're building the techniques to recover more.
Every metal reclaimed from e-waste is a metal that doesn't have to be freshly mined — the core idea behind our approach to sustainability.
Our proprietary hydrometallurgical and electrorefining techniques go beyond copper and precious metals to target base metals and rare earth elements most processors leave behind.
Partners describe us as a company that promises a timeline and delivers on it — from collection through to final processed output.
Our processing line follows Central Pollution Control Board guidelines, with hazardous material packed separately and routed to authorised disposal.
Our processing line follows Central Pollution Control Board guidelines and combines manual dismantling with mechanical separation, so both large e-waste items and scrap PCBs can be handled on the same line.
Scrap passes through a manual dismantling conveyor table where hazardous items and contaminants are removed by hand before any mechanical processing begins.
Material is fed into the mechanical line, where it's shredded, milled and air-separated to isolate recoverable metal fractions.
Hazardous material identified during dismantling is packed in special containers and sent to authorised agencies for disposal.
Our proprietary extraction techniques recover base metals at a significant purity grade — ready for re-entry into manufacturing.
Develop novel methodologies that let us extract as much valuable metal from e-waste as possible — economically and environmentally.
Establish an e-waste recycling mechanism that produces high-purity metals and aligns with the idea of a circular economy.
Worked with them very closely and I would say best is the word that fits the purpose — they are best in the market.
Urban Metals is the company which promises and makes sure to deliver on time.
Best e-waste recycling company so far — they know their tools and machines so perfectly well. Great working with you guys, thanks!
